Project Description
Sloan Security Group (SSG) installed ten (10) miles of USACE Vehicle Border Barrier Fence on an “emergency schedule” of 50 days from mobilization to completion.  SSG mobilized its project managers, crews, and equipment to the site within two days of receiving the notice to proceed and successfully completed the project on schedule. The project required handling 4.2 million lbs. of steel and the placement of over 15,000 yards of concrete for the foundation.
Project Challenges
  • Building 50,000LF of barrier in 50 calendar days required intense scheduling and planning;
  • Extreme terrain variations from sand to loose rock & 45% grades;
  • Security concerns Including illegal immigrants & drug smugglers;
  • Complex environmental and archeological issues;
  • Unpredictable weather activity resulting in flash floods; and
  • Limited access to the remote project site
